Four items are listed, which means now they can get business cards put in them and bagged up in plastic for safe keeping.  The listings are the hardest part to do and takes me forever!!!  UGHHHH  I'm not a writer by a long shot and could sure use some help in that area, but that's the way it goes, right?  Four items and two hours later, I'm ready to get off the computer and get back to actually making something worthwhile!  :)  Here's the listings......

There is one more thing to list, but it just may not get done today.  But that's okay!

Thanks for looking and happy creating, everyone!

After having a very enjoyable morning at work (and I mean that) I needed to stop at Walmart (ick) for some essentials.  While there, thought I'd pick up some iron-on batting as theirs is the least expensive, even with a coupon at Joann's.  They had some great bargains in the main aisle, and yes, I fell for it.  Hook, line, and sinker.  Actually did not get a whole lot accomplished for the my on-line stores today, but tomorrow is another day.  So here's the non-eventful events of the afternoon......

Who can resist $3.50 per bin, huh? And $3.50 for a pack of 3 smaller ones?
Picture
Poky Puppy and Little Golden Books fabric came in the mail yesterday. See the gorgeous stuff on the right? OOOOO Yep, lady bugs, to the left.

Look!!! I found my sewing machine table!!!
Picture
And set up those cheap bins with fabric, paper, pens, appliques, you name it. But it's organized! And the mini cutting table is cleared off! WOW ME!
Picture
I only located 1/2 of the guest bed, though. OH, well.....

This last photo is me determined to fix every demo to perfection and add something to its package so I can list each on Etsy tomorrow.  So each of the mini folder/binder thingy's are now fixed, getting a bonus item done, and yes..... I need more decoupage stuff.  crap

The case you see at the top left hand side of the photo is Bill's grandpa's special collection that he has nowhere to hang at his office.  Yet.  His office here in town has not been completed yet so he figures hanging it in the hallway where his desk is probably isn't the right thing to do.  And his office in Omaha is just too far away to put this treasure.  So here it lays, on our dining room table - but it's safe and sound.  But should I be using a paint brush around it?  Hmmmmm

As the hub has a gig, me and Mark Harmon will keep up with each other this evening, keeping busy doing something.  I really do wish he'd get a different haircut in that show, though.  tee hee

Get creative - and have a blessed weekend!  I'll update something tomorrow, hopefully.  :)

I was given a new challenge by a co-worker the other day:  a 3-ring binder covered with fabric.  Hmmmm, I say..... I've done those a trillion times, but not in years!  I remember my mom's bookshelf sitting behind her favorite chair, lined with her fabric covered notebooks, some with cross-stitching on the front, but every one holding something very dear to her.  And it made for a very colorful bookshelf, too!  So I took on the challenge this evening to see if I could still do it.  Out came the rulers, the pins, the scraps, the scissors....  This is what I came up with as a demo using a 1" 3-ring binder I got at Staples today....

Bad pic of it closed....

... bad lighting, bad photo. First photo is truer in color....

The leatherette logo worked great with this design....

Binder standing up with Karen in the background getting voted off American Idol. Yet another awful photo.
It was a successful project and was actually fairly pleased with the end result.  See the wire cooling rack sitting on its side to the left there?  There was enough of the muffin patterned fabric to make a little notebook to go along with it and stick in the inside pocket.  The mini book is drying on that rack with only two more coats of decoupage to go and a nice trim.

As you all know, I don't cook or I'd keep this one.  :)  But it could be filed with plastic cover sheets, photo pages for recipe cards......... the options are numerous.

Give me more ideas, everyone!  Are there enough pockets on the inside cover?  Should there be something else added?  Taken away?

Keep creating, folks, and enjoy LIFE!

After struggling with the mini file folder idea made out of paper, it hit me tonight what I could try.  So Bill shooo-ed me off to the sewing room to see if the concept would work, and here I am showing the prototype of what could actually WORK!  Now mind you all, I am a 3X5 card nut and think everyone should have them in their purse.  I do, and it's saved me on numerous occasions from being without information I needed.  So let me know what you think, what you think could be tweaked or improved on.

Elastic, baby!  All it took was elastic and I can leave the cardstock and folding for something else.  And it opens up and down instead of side to side.  Just had to fix my thinking is all.  Ahhhhhhhhh, sleep will be good tonight for sure.

Weird day.... PetSmart for a new fish (yes, Michael Jackson the 2nd needed to be replaced by MJ #3), to Bed Bath & Beyond because whoever waited on my husband yesterday thought they could get by NOT using his 20% off coupon he handed them, and to Walmart just for the fun of it.  Yeah, the last part of that sentence was a joke - who goes to Walmart for FUN?  Yikes.

Anyway, wanted to throw out the two planners I finished up today.  It was my PINK day, I guess.  Just because I'm not a fan of pink, doesn't mean others aren't.  And one of the planners is for a good cause, and would make a terrific gift for a survivor.

It's time to pick up a book - or some knitting.  I hear golf on TV so we all know it's Sunday afternoon for sure.

Be CREATIVE and let's have a wonderful week together!

I totally give up on trying to produce a Vera Bradley knock-off.  This was another stab at it, but it's awful and will probably end up in the trash.  There is just about nothing that attracts me to this design any longer............  Had a thought that kicking up the folder part with different color dividers would help.  But, nah, it's just not the type of quality I want or am looking for, and would be embarrassed to even try and sell these.  I had to try, though, right?

So out of the duds and frustration came a whirlwind of new ideas the minute I woke up this morning.  The realization that paper is unforgiving in certain areas, and that I need to keep the paper part of my life to scrapbooking (once that all comes in from the garage that is) where creativity comes more in to play.  The perfection in these paper folders has to be precise and afraid the old girl isn't a machine to do that!  HA!

So the designs from now on should keep along the same lines as before.  Softer and non-tearing.  And I'm excited to try the softer side of what you're seeing above.

There was a magazine that came in the mail this week, and hadn't had a chance to sit and really look at it until yesterday.

LOOK AT THIS!!!!  Is this not one of the most stunning necklaces ever?  Does it not have my name written all over it?  I love to dream, but this is out of my league to make.  Any takers out there in the blog-osphere who could replicate this?

I do have a birthday coming.  tee hee

Happy creating and have a BLESSED SUNDAY!

After a night of no sleep, I decided to just get up and do something, anything!  It's better than laying in bed fighting it.  So I got up at dark o'clock (yeah, maybe minus-dark-o'clock) and tried doing another mini receipt holder, only this time making it a little bit bigger to accommodate some of the cutting dies I have for envelopes and mini pocket folders.  Well, as it turned out, I was about 3/8" off the new style - too SMALL!  I could have dealt with too big.  Not sure how to fix this one, and I'm not even going to show you a picture it came out that awful.  But that's what the drawing board is for - to fix and re-calculate.

Let's just hope that this isn't going to start a new trend around here, so we won't even go there, right?

Need the mojo back!  And like Scarlet always says - EVERY time I see that movie  - "For tomorrow is another day!"  Yep, there I go quoting from movies again.

Happy creating, everyone!  Don't ever give up, you never know what you might just end up with.

This little guy has been in my head for over a week.  Figured that I'd start on a good prototype while I did the ironing this morning (since I'm not scheduled to work until later).
Picture
Here is the outside and I'm pretty happy with the way this part turned out.  The fabric is adorable and hopefully it has been embellished just the right way.  As prototypes go, it really is going well!  So the next one will be better, I hope, as there are extensive notes on paper and in my head for improvements (hopefully).

Picture
It's not finished yet because there is one more element to this whole project that I still need to figure out how to do.  But I will!  Maybe in this picture of the inside, you can tell how small it is.  I accidentally left the tape measure off to the side.  It's only 6" tall and is made to hold the mini legal pads.  And that pen is a short stubby thing so it's perfect.

So keep an eye out for the extra little ZING this puppy is going to get on the left side of the interior.  Fun stuff!

On the way to the wrestling meet (of which our grandson took 2nd Place Trophy) today, I had to stop at Michael's and Bill wanted to visit Trader Joe's.  Nice way to get things done fast is to split up and run.  :)  Needed iron on letters for a project and what do I find but a SALE in the iron-on aisle!  And before we even left for the meet, I'd sold a pattern to one of my knitted handbags on Etsy, so I knew there were a couple extra dollars to have fun with at the craft store.

I have a couple of medium sized notebooks in line to make that have a MARTINI theme to them, and what do you think I found?  YEP!  You got it - the perfect little extra for the binders, and on sale to boot.
Picture
So now it's time to go sit with Bill and watch the movie he's rented:  "Apocalypse Now".  We've seen it a gazillion times, but it's been awhile.   And you all know me enough by now that I won't really watch it, but I'll be doing something else and enjoying the music in the movie.  Yeah, I think I can handle The Doors tonight.  :)

Picture
So Marcy asked, "How's the golf vest re-do coming?"  I never expected what was to come next.
The golf vest is sitting on the extra bed.... letting it try on different handles, fabrics, etc.  It just wasn't happy with the fabrics I brought out, so it whispered to me, "Go look in the storage room and it will come."  LOL  OK, so I steal lines from movies once in awhile.  I'm thinking that I could look through my handle stash while in there, and then I remembered there were two totes that haven't been opened since we moved here 2 years ago.  LOOK AT THIS MOTHERLOAD of FABRIC!!!!  There's plaids, stripes, florals, kids, tye-dyes, themed..... it's extensive!  I about started screaming for joy, but decided to grab the camera first so I never EVER forget this treasure.  I got so much flack when we moved about all the totes of yarn that I'd forgotten about my fabric stash.  God is SO good!  I could have eBay-ed all this stuff before the move, but decided not to.  God knew!  He'd had plans for it all.  But anyway, the perfect denim popped out amongst all of this and the golf vest will now be happy. Oh, and the perfect handles appeared from the storage room, too.

Picture
I heard my phone ringing upstairs (no, not smart enough to actually take it with me downstairs) and after missing the call, what does my dear one ask me?  He says, "Well, aren't you going to send a freebie along with that sale you just made?"  Always the salesman he is.  And yes, he's right.  It may not happen all the time, but a freebie it shall be.  So out comes my paint and the last of my mini's.  After this dries, fabric will get decoupaged on.

So back to the padded room I go.  :)
