Remember the post with the three paintings?  Or at least knock-off prints of paintings canvas?  One really is a real painting, the other two are prints on canvas.  Well, I took one of them, squared it up nice and got THIS out of it!  I couldn't be happier with the end result for my first try at a market bag.  This guy is big enough to carry a dozen ears of corn, 3 onions, 6 tomatoes, head of lettuce AND that fantastic sour dough bread the Mennonite women make at our local farmers market.  I'll bet it would even hold a bunch of fresh cut flowers, a jar of local honey, a gift of handmade jewelry for a loved one AND a dozen cookies.

This bag even got my husband's stamp of approval.  Now we need to come up with a name for this little division of TygerLily.  Got any good ideas worth sharing?  If you do, try to get the name Bonnie worked into it somewhere.  I have my reasons.

Thanks for looking and ENJOY this wonderful weekend!!

There are times when one must just stop and smell the roses.  Since all of my supplies have not yet arrived for one of my other ventures, I decided that a little fun with another restyle of a designer banner could get accomplished.  This LaFont banner started out being about 2-ft by 4-ft in size and is made of some type of nylon or polyester fabric.  The colors on the back are absolutely gorgeous.  With only one imperfection to the whole banner, it was easily hidden with a trendy patch and an Arc de Triomphe ironed on.  That added just a little more 'French'-ness to the bag.  When it was complete, I remembered all the fun flower clips and voila!  Guess I'm a sucker for those flowers, or could you tell.  :)  This bag could actually get used for a purse or handbag as it's not as wide as the others.  It does have 4 gold feet on the bottom (not in picture) and deep pockets on the front only.  You know, that old lipstick thing again.

Sister bags - Aren't they just CUTE? Smile for the camera ladies!
Thank you for taking time to look.  Every day is a new experience - LIVE OUT LOUD!  It's worth it.

This was the next banner that I had cut down, so it needed to be done first.  It morphed and morphed as I worked on it.  There was just too many cool things on the banner that just could NOT be cut off or discarded.  But it was way too deep, so that's why there is a pocket that circles all the way around the bottom.  You know, a quick place to stick your lipstick or something.  So here is my remake #2 - the OGI Bag.

There are 4 buttons - front and back and on both ends to keep that long old pocket in place.  And you may be asking why the pink flower hanging on the pocket?  Well, on the back of the bag is the model's bright pink lipsticked up lips.  It just screamed for a BOLD flower.

This is a one of a kind, there won't be another one like it on the face of the earth.

And thank you for checking it out!

Here's a new idea that someone at work threw at me this week.  So off I go to Goodwill to see if they would have any paintings on canvas for sale.  And they did!!!  So what do you think will happen (on the redesigning side of my biz) with these beautiful canvases?

As you can tell, even my husband is intrigued by this idea.  So even though he has a full evening in his band tonight, he came out to help de-frame these bad boys and get the stretcher bars taken off.  I tried to get our woodworking neighbor to take the frames, but for some reason the knocked around look didn't trip his trigger.  :)

Keep an eye open for some interesting reworks on these canvases......  any ideas?

Remember, color outside the lines - you may end up with a better picture than the original!

I just found an idea (how I wish it were my own) for recycling Altoid Mint boxes.  Of course, me being me, the idea will get kicked up a couple of notches and will be a new product in the JournalJunction line on Etsy.  So everyone, PLEASE don't throw those tins away because I will use, use, and USE them!!!

Will turn into one heck of an organizing tool for your handbags and totes.
Thank you Better Homes and Gardens for the inspiration - and the ability to take your basic idea and spin it around a little.  YeeeeeeHa!

After doing NOTHING constructive last night (shame on me) I figured this morning should be a 'get back on track' morning.  So after completing a few small tasks the other eyewear banners got brought out and had their pictures taken.  I hope the ideas in my head will work with some of these.  If they don't, I'm not out much, just have to go back to the drawing board is all.  :)  Take a look at the fun vinyls and fabrics that are itching to get played with......

Juicy Couture sassy vinyl (LOVE the colors in this one)

Kate Spade classic vinyl (Kate Spade and her clean lines...)

Stack of fabric and vinyl from LaFont, Prodesign, and Nine West. The LaFont has me itching to get behind the sewing machine because of the unique colors and print.

Lightweight vinyl OGI (yes, I own a pair of these myself) Ignore the PVC in the pic, that's just to hold down the curl of the fabric. This one is already designed in my head and next to visit the sewing machine. The model in the print has bright red lipstick on and that will show up on the back of the bag for some pop. WAY neat.
So please follow along the upcycling process with me.  Full week of my real job, but watch out because there's a 3-day weekend coming up!  I see a lot of Law & Order and a sewing machine in my near future.  HA!

Get creative and have some fun - live out loud, and please color outside the lines.

I know, it's been a couple of weeks since my teaser on how a discontinued Oakley eyewear banner could possibly be reworked.  Well, after many ideas (most that just wouldn't work) this is the final product.  And to be honest, it really didn't come out too bad!  Just don't know what I'm going to do with it now.  :)  Any ideas???  HELP!  Someone NEEDS to take this off my hands!!!

Just wanted to give you a little tease as to something that came up yesterday.  A new recycling project!  Only going to show you the item that is going to get upcycled and re-styled into something hopefully a little fun.

This is a wonderful vinyl mesh promo that was destined for a recycle bin at work.  Yep, you got it.  I nabbed it and can't wait to redesign this into.....????   You guess!  This thing is huge, that's why I photographed it on the floor.  You can get sort of an idea of how much material there is here to work with.  SO FUN!  So keep your eye out for the finished project hopefully this week.

Keep creating, keep busy!

After talking myself out of ironing (which wasn't hard to do) I went into my yarn closet and picked a royal purple bulky to try and do another ear warmer.  Switched up the flower a little and covered a button in bright yellow fabric for the center.  My camera absolutely REFUSES to get the color of purple correct.  Just know it is a very deep royalty kind of purple and just plain luscious.  Still don't know if these would sell, but they are kind of fun to make!

In an effort to keep my hands from completely shutting down, the best way to fight the aches is to get them moving again.  So I picked up this project that was on the coffee table for a week....... and yes, folks, I finished yet ANOTHER thing today.  This idea came from a friend at work who had seen something like this and took a picture on her phone to show me - guess she thought I could do some of these.  Well, I guess I can!  Thank you, Jess!  And happy birthday today to you, also!  :)  You wear it with the flower kind of on the side of your head I guess, and the skinny part back under your hair.   Make any sense?

So now what do I do with it?  I know I won't wear it - ever.  Do I sell it, make more of them, how much would I ask.....????  I could sure use some feedback and ideas, all you in the blogosphere!!!!!  HELP!
